Will Clark
Will Clark is an exciting and engaging young violinist based in London, originally from York. Their already wide range of experience across different genres of music informs their playing, creating electrifying and fresh performances. As a soloist, Will adopts a club-kid-inspired concert dress style, curated when working in the Soho queer and drag scene under the drag persona “Anna Cruzis”. Their onstage presence and playing has been described as “superb” (Theatre and Tonic, 2023).
Recent highlights include winning The Tunnell Trust prize with his ensemble “Allora”, leading Bizet’s “Carmen” for the Royal Academy Opera, leading “Carousel in Concert” at the Royal Festival Hall, touring China in February 2025 as concertmaster of a West End musical theatre concert orchestra, a recital for British Music Society York in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, becoming a member of Chromatica Orchestra, joining experimental-pop duo Jockstrap onstage as a violinist for a two-day run at Barbican Centre (London) and recording a live unplugged track for techno duo “Underworld”
Will is also a proficient orchestral player and leader having worked with prominent conductors such as Marin Alsop, Barbara Hannigan, Trevor Pinnock, Mark Wigglesworth, John Wilson, Semyon Bychkov and Lee Reynolds as well as soloists including Nicola Benedetti, Jack Liebeck, Janice Graham . Will has toured across Europe with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, City of Leeds Youth Orchestra and was appointed principal second of the World Chamber Youth Orchestra for their tour of Bulgaria in 2022. For the last two years Will has worked as both principal second and lead violin for the Waterperry Opera Festival Orchestra performing on site in Waterperry Gardens and at Opera Holland Park. Recent orchestral engagements have included performing as co-principal second violin for English Sinfonia and principal second for Amersham Festival Orchestra. He is also the resident leader of Serafine Orchestra in Hertford and co-leader of Chromatica Orchestra.
Other than being a classical player, Will also regularly appears onstage to lead a number of musical theatre shows and critically acclaimed cabaret in The Hammersmith Apollo, The London Palladium, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The Pleasance Theatre and Soho Theatre. They have had the pleasure of working with West End and Broadway Stars such as Ramin Karimloo (Dr Zhivago), Rachel Tucker (Annie Get Your Gun, Side Show, GRAVITY), Kerry Ellis (Diana the Musical, GRAVITY), Alice Fearn (Diana the Musical), Louise Dearman (Side Show, GRAVITY) and Rebecca Caine (Carousel)
Recording credits include a silent film (Abbey Road Studios), Laure Chan’s recording of Schumann’s Violin Concerto in D minor as a 1st Violin (Abbey Road Studios), Jockstrap’s debut album I Love You Jennifer B (The Church Studios) and a live recording of "Black Poppies" for Underworld at Drumsheds.

Will is currently studying for their Master of Music in violin at the Royal Academy of Music with Jack Liebeck.
